  • DEWESoft and Operating Systems
  • What kind of OS and computer hardware do I need for Dewesoft 7?
  • DEWESoft supports Microsoft Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 32 bit. On Windows Vista and Windows 7 we recommend switching off user account control for better performance.

    DEWESoft can also be run on Windows 7 64-bit, but many hardware drivers are not signed and therefore hardware support is limited on this Windows version.

    All OS are required to have DirectX 9.0c installed.

    DEWESoft will not run on Windows 2000, NT, 98, 95, 3.11, Linux, Mac OS or any UNIX system.

  • Will DEWESoft 7 run on Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows Server ?
  • DEWESoft will run on all Windows versions, but the acquisition hardware support depends on the Windows system drivers for that specific device. If the hardware device supports drivers for the Windows version you want to use, then DEWESoft will be able to support it on desired Windows system.
  • Does DEWESoft 7 run with 32 and/or 64 bit Windows version?
  • Yes. DEWESoft will run on both - 32 bit and 64 bit Windows. The acquisition hardware support again depends on the device driver support for 32/64 bit Windows.
  • DEWESoft and Hardware
  • Does DEWESoft 7 support my hardware?
  • DEWESoft 7 supports many different hardware devices, from many different manufacturers. Please take a look at DEWESoft 7 hardware device support list, to see if your device is supported.
  • Will my web-camera work as video input device in DEWESoft 7?
  • Yes. DEWESoft 7 supports all standard Direct X compatible cameras.
  • Which DEWESoft version do I need for my hardware?
  • Take a look at DEWESoft 7 features matrix to see which DEWESoft 7 is needed for your acquisition system.
  • DEWESoft 7 registratiom
  • How do I register DEWESoft 7?
  • Online registration: if your measurement PC is connected to the internet you can register directly from DEWESoft. Run DEWESoft 7 and navigate to "Registration" tab in "Hardware setup" window. Enter your license key and press "Register online" button. DEWESoft will connect to the internet and will register automatically.

    Offline registration: if your measurement PC does not have internet connection, you can register offline. Please follow this link for complete how-to instruction for offline registration.
  • Where can I get 30 day evaluation key for DEWESoft 7?
  • You can get 30 day evaluation license key here.
  • Will DEWESoft license allow me to run newly connected hardware?
  • No. DEWESoft will only allow you to use hardware that is supported by your registered license. If you want to connect additional hardware you will need new DEWESoft license.
  • DEWESoft 7 features
  • What is main difference between DEWESoft 6.x and DEWESoft 7?
  • The main difference is the the introduction of post-processing and offline math functions in DEWESoft 7. Before you were only able to run online math and processing. Now you can use all these functions even after the data was already acquired and stored to file.
    Other major improvements include new user interface, open file structure, sequencing and more. Find out more.
  • Can I analyze data after the acquisition and data was already stored to the hard drive?
  • Yes. DEWESoft 7 introduced a powerful post-processing and offline math functions. Find out more.

Firmware upgrade utility Use this utility program to perform firmware upgrade on your instrument(s). Download

Firmware upgrade instructions

  1. DEWE-43: connect DEWE43 with the USB cable to the computer. It is assumed that the drivers are already installed.

    Important: Make sure that the external power supply is NOT connected during the firmware upgrade.

    DS MINITAUR: turn on the instrument.

  2. Check if existing firmware version on your instrument is lower then latest released firmware version (3.0.5.16). You can check your current firmware version in DEWESoft Hardware Setup screen. If the version of your current firmware is the same, you don't need to upgrade.



  3. Download firmware upgrade utility and firmware file above. Unzip both files to a folder on your hard drive.

  4. Run firmware upgrade utility and select the "DEWESoft USB" from device drop down list and browse to the BT_3.0.5.16.fwu firmware file:



  5. Press "Upload" button and wait until progress bar reaches 100%. Do not interrupt this operation.

  6. When upload is finished, press OK. New firmware is now uploaded on the device. If this fails for any reason, repeat the upload process again.

  7. Disconnect the USB, reconnect power and reconnect USB again.
