Extract RPM of signal

Shows how to manually extract the RPM of a sound wave signal; this might be helpful if you want to do order tracking analysis, but it’s not possible to mount an encoder for rpm signal.

Dewesoft Excel reporting tool

If you have a series of datafiles from the same test (e.g. vehicle brake testing), and want to compare one or more parameter (e.g. brake distance) of all measurements, you can use the Excel reporting tool (= plugin for MS Excel) to import a batch of data files to compare; at the end you will get a professional report.

Triggered FRF with modal hammer

Shows how to do a modal analysis on a basic rectangular shape structure; only one modal hammer and one accelerometer is needed.

How to realise a PWM output with DEWESoft, which can be changed “live” during measurement. With the buffered output option of the AO function generator, it’s possible to output any channel with high sampling rate, of course with a little delay.

Bump test (Triggered FFT)

Shows how to perform the “bump test” with DEWESoft. If the goal of the measurement is just getting the resonance (natural) frequencies of a structure – not caring about the corrected amplitudes, attenuations or transfer fuctions – this method is fine. Of course it depends on the tip used for excitation, for the lower frequency range the result is usually more accurate.

Shows how to do balancing on a rotating machinery by the use of the DEWESoft balancing plugin (also included in DSA package). Initial run, trial run and correction run are performed on a demonstration kit having initial unbalance.
