Structural Health Monitoring of Scandinavia’s First Recycled Aluminum Bridge
The Hangar Bridge in Trondheim, Norway, is Scandinavia’s first pedestrian bridge built entirely from recycled aluminum. To study its lightweight structural behavior and support future aluminum bridge design standards, NTNU and Dewesoft Monitoring installed a permanent structural health monitoring system using accelerometers, strain gauges, and synchronized daisy-chained data acquisition technology. The system provides long-term data on the bridge’s performance and dynamic response.
